The artist works from life or photos,       and usually a combination of both.            It is essential that correct colors for      skin, eyes and hair be noted in some way.    The artist may make brief color notes (samples) or start the portrait at  your location, noting the correct colors.    Photographs are taken, espically in the case of young children who find it difficult to sit for a portrait.     Depending on the time available the portrait may be finished mostly on site, or mostly at the artists studio.    

Portraits created entirely from photos are offered.    Again correct colors should in some way be noted by the client: "his hair color is the same as this cloth",  "eye color is accurate in photo number 3".    Original photos should not be sent, use a color copier to reproduce them, the high resolution of a color copier should be used even for black and white photos.
